This body of work is inspired by our search for light. It is also inspired by the life and openings of George Fox. George Fox was the founder of Quakerism. George Fox lived in England from 1624 to 1691. He was the leader of a group that formed The Religious Society of Friends in England in 1652. One of his core openings (message from God) was “That everyone can speak to God and hear Him speak, without any other human intervening.” Light is energy, science tells us that energy cannot be destroyed it can only change into other forms of energy or matter. Light can cause chemical reactions, light can warm us, light can lead us out of darkness. Light causes photosynthesis that feeds the plants that feeds our bodies. When we walk in the light, we can find the way. We have souls which are energy. Therefore, we have energy within us. The universe or God is energy, we have a part of that energy within us. Each of us has a unique reservoir of energy. Our unique energies can combine to create a greater universe of light. There are many paths to the light many ways of praying, meditating, listening to music, listening to children laugh or sitting in silence. We must find that inner path to find that which brings us joy. We must tap into this reservoir to find peace, joy, and the ability to live in this complicated world.
